Upper Laurel Fire & Ambulance, Inc. is a non-profit, dual-role emergency services agency serving both Wyoming and McDowell counties in the southern West Virginia coalfields.

The Upper Laurel Volunteer Fire Department, Wyoming County Station 500, is located in Sabine and serves the Glen Rogers-Ravencliff-McGraws-Sabine-Glen Fork district of Wyoming County.

The Upper Laurel Ambulance Service (ULAS), a non-profit ambulance service, was started in the mid-1990's to provide ambulance care to the Upper Laurel district of Wyoming County. As the need for additional ambulance service in Wyoming County increased, ULAS has grown to become the largest 911 ambulance provider in Wyoming County. ULAS operates ambulances from Sabine, Oceana, Pineville, Mullens and Baileysville.

In 2008, ULAS began answering 911 calls in McDowell County from Wyoming. In response to this need, ULAS now operates ambulance from within McDowell County, responding from Coalwood and Roderfield.
